Executing Your Newly Incubated Business Idea

Image
Founders soon learn that customers only spend real money for solutions rather than ideas. Investors have also learned not to invest in ideas but only in entrepreneurs and teams who can deliver solutions. Success requires moving your passion quickly from the idea to the business implementation. A good execution requires a plan and the right people, combined to create operational excellence and exceptional customer value. Companies that do this best become market leaders. Google, for example, was not the first Internet search provider (think Yahoo!, AltaVista, InfoSeek and others), but according toInvestopedia, Google was the first to really monetize search. As a result, Google has become a verb, and the company is a tech giant with record growth rates and a revenue of $74.5 billion in 2015. But Google is not unique. Many other companies have followed a similar set of execution principles which I believe are required for business success, no matter how great the idea: 1. Tune the busines...

Who Doctored Nigeria's 2016 National Budget?

Image
Nigerian Journalist, Omoh Gabriel has looked into the budget crisis of President Muhammadu Buhari which has being trailed by massive furor in recent times. Muhammadu Buhari presenting the budget before the national assembly   Zero budgeting cannot be responsible for budget padding. It cannot be the reason for rats smuggling foreign provisions into the budget. It can not be the reason for double entry in allocation to ministries, departments and agencies of government. Those who prepare the budget have been around for many years. The Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation Dr. Bright Okogu holds a PhD in Economics from the famous University of Oxford London in 1987. He is not a stranger to budgeting process and figures. It is unheard of in the history of Nigeria’s budget circle and very shameful for the image of this administration that a serving minister will publicly disown the provisions made for his ministry. In the growing controversies dogging President Muhammadu Buh...
